Some weddings begin with a proposal. This one began with a secret.

Alicia and Marco had married in a civil ceremony in Barcelona only a few weeks earlier. But Marco wanted to give her something she could never have imagined: a surprise wedding in the heart of the Venetian lagoon.

Alicia believed the trip to Venice was simply a gift and that she would wear her wedding dress again for a family photo shoot. Instead, 110 friends and relatives from around the world were waiting for her at Murano’s enchanting Glass Cathedral.

For three months, Marco and I kept the secret. Every message, reservation and detail had to be handled discreetly: guests’ journeys and hotels, the venue, flowers, music, stationery and every professional involved.

It was an intense, delicate and deeply moving project. When the surprise was finally revealed, every careful detail and every moment spent protecting the secret found its meaning.

Some love stories already feel like a film. Alicia and Marco’s is one of them.
